Before finishing her PhD in Epidemiology & Genetics at Oxford, Leonie led multiple strategic consultancy teams on projects for firms across the world. From a med-tech startup in Silicon Valley and a charity focused on child development in India, to an environmental NGO in Indonesia.
She has worked at UNICEF Jordan and the healthcare management consulting firm Candesic as a consultant, and for the Max Planck Institute (Germany) and the Walter & Eliza Hall Institute (Australia) as a scientist. In addition, she has managed research and population health projects in Hong Kong, and is now supporting the establishment of a new diplomatic organisation, Diplomats Without Borders.
